Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before hitting the slopes.
How do I determine the correct ski length for my height and skill level?
As a general rule, skis should reach somewhere between your chin and the top of your head. Beginners should opt for shorter skis for better control, while advanced skiers may prefer longer skis for stability at high speeds. Check our detailed sizing guide on each product page for specific brand recommendations.
What is your return policy for boots and technical gear?
We offer a 30-day return policy on all unused gear in its original packaging. For ski boots, we recommend trying them on indoors on a carpeted surface; once they have been heat-molded or used on the mountain, they are no longer eligible for return.
Do you offer professional binding mounting and adjustment?
Yes, we offer professional mounting services. If you purchase both skis and bindings from us, mounting is included. You will need to provide your boot sole length (BSL), weight, height, and skier ability level during the checkout process to ensure safety compliance.
How long does shipping take for oversized items like skis and snowboards?
Standard shipping for oversized equipment typically takes 5-7 business days within the continental US. All equipment is shipped in reinforced, double-walled boxes to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.
Do you provide international shipping for winter sports equipment?
Currently, Ski Barn ships to the United States and Canada. Please note that international orders may be subject to additional customs duties and taxes upon arrival, which are the responsibility of the recipient.
How should I maintain my skis during the off-season?
We recommend applying a thick layer of 'storage wax' over the edges and base without scraping it off to prevent oxidation and drying. Store your gear in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature fluctuations.
